SUMMARY:SPEAKER ~ Alex Caval - Attorney at Law & Fellow Rotarian
DESCRIPTION:Alex will be discussing all the details of Proposition 1\, including the pros and cons\, of an important initiative that will be on the ballot this November. Our goal is to educate voters and help them understand this proposition. \nIn November\, Idaho voters will decide whether to enact Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) for statewide elections\, while using a non-partisan Top 4 primary system to determine which candidates advance to the general election. \nCurrently\, Idaho is one of nine states referred to as a “partially closed” primary state\, which means that private political parties are allowed to decide whether to include ballots from nonaffiliated voters. \n  \nSpeaker Details: \nAlexandra Caval is a bankruptcy attorney who focuses her practice on debtor rights in bankruptcy. Ms. Caval is a 2008 graduate of the University of Idaho College of Law. She is also involved in Republican politics within the State of Idaho.  In her spare time\, Ms. Caval enjoys painting and hiking.
